Winemaker
The winegrowers' association has goat a clear goal:the production of a wine which represents its territory.The “Produttori di Govone”company was founded in 1957 by Giovanni Dalmasso,a leading figure of viticulture at that times.The company wats to exploit the natural resources of the Langhe hills,,full of great grapes for great wines.At that time,the winegrowers,under the guidance of don Vittorio Cauda,realized how important their unity was,to protect the real value of the grape from a greedy market.
Many year have passed since the contruction,planned in 1959 by surveyor Bianco Adge,but the sense of union is still the same.The almost current 250 current members come from various places of the Langa Albese and Astigiana,and they represent the real power of this reality.
Winery
The winery was founded in 1959 and,since then,it combines modernity and tradition.In the cellars,visitors can breathe the history of the guild,which follows the purpose of giving great wines to the consumers,in harmony with the territory it wsa born it.In the pressing and wine production sections are found the grapes previously selected,and carried towards the steels where the process of their conversion starts.The great care for hygiene preserves flavours and aromas of the wine.Every step in the cellars is closely supervised in order to achievea certification by the “Quality Policy”.Surrounded by a quiet atmosphere,the aging departments welcomes the wines which need to ripe in large barrels,while younger wines and white wines become mature in the vats.
The winery is completed by the remaining departments(bottling,warehouse and storage),and,like a giant,it leans on the Govone hill,from which dominates the valley towards Alba.In the cellars,not only wine is made,but also the history of a land.In order to improve even more the product,after 2008 things works accordingly to the “Quality policy”criteria.The main goal is the HACCP certificate and the product traceability,in favour of the wine-drinking consumers.Quality is at the base of production,in each processing steps,with a use of constantly monitored organic products.The “Produttori di Govone”works responsibly and carefully.
